The Global Enterprise Challenge is a 24 hour enterprise challenge for young people aged 16-19. It gives young people the opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience of enterprise, through providing an environment where they can apply skills and develop their understanding in practical ways.
Kevin Mansell-Abell worked with a team of finalists from Bridgend College at the Urdd Centre in Cardiff Bay.
Challenged with creating a product that will serve to better inform people of energy consumption, their 24 hours on the project resulted in 'Clearly Green'. Their product created a traffic light system of usage, which worked right across appliances within the home or workplace. Able to monitor consumption would allow the user to make changes to their habits, reducing energy consumption and energy bills.
Their creative design was key to their presentation, and although they didn't secure 1st place, gave a comprehensive, professional presentation of their business idea.
