Mongol Rally 2010
James Woodman was recently in touch looking for printed t-shirts and stickers, after delving a little deeper we got to know what he was up to - and offered our services in support of the project.
The Mongol Rally is an event ran annually by a company called The Adventurists. The rally first took place in 2004 and has grown every year. This
year over 600 teams from all over Europe are taking part in the event, the gist being to drive a third of the way around the earth, from Europe to
Mongolia via a plethora of countries most people haven't heard of in a car that has an engine with no bigger than 1 litre. The rally is completely
unsupported and it is left down to the teams to devise their own route.
Some teams venture as far North as the Arctic Circle, and some as far South as Afghanistan. We however are looking to travel straight across Europe, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Romania, and Ukraine, before venturing in to Asia, across Russia and the “stan” countries, before finally across the Gobi Desert in to Mongolia and to the capital Ulaan Bataar.
The rally isn’t just a massive adventure, it is all about raising huge amounts of money for charity. Last year the rally raised over £200,000, and this year they
are looking to smash that total.
